KA6U Update - October Roving Trip - 2100UTC Sept 30, 2023

UPDATE

I will start 902 EME activation at 0100UTC October 1st 4 hours from now in addition to 70cm activation.  I will be on both bands at the same time.

If  you want to try on 902 EME send me a message on the HB9Q logger and I will start calling on 902.
I will do NC first then SC.

I will be in FM04IM04

Here is the current plan for the next two weeks.  All dates and times are UTC:

  • October 11 - No operations
  • October 12 - ME - 70 cm - 1130UTC
  • October 12 - ME/NH - 902 - 1800UTC
I will be on the HB9Q site for all operations.  I will have Internet access.
When you call me please double check that you are operating with the correct modes, sequence and Doppler settings.
My stations are normally receive limited and I need to know where to look for your signals.  The laptop computer I use can't decode the entire passband.
My operating modes are:
  • 222 - Q65-60B 1500hz CFOM 2nd 222.085
  • 70cm - Q65-60B 1500hz CFOM 2nd 432.085
  • 902 - Q65-60C 1500hz CFOM 2nd 902.150
  • 23cm - Q65-60C 1500hz CFOM 2nd 1296.085
When you hear me please call with TX2 to save time.
If you don't hear me, please call with TX1.  Then if I hear you I can at least know the correct RX polarity to use.
If you have switchable polarity please send me a chat message when you are ready to call so we can coordinate polarity switching.  If we both switch polarity without coordination we could end up chasing and not make contact.

Because of different moon windows to EU and US West Coast on many days I will need to setup my station twice on each day.  Once during the night and a second time in the morning local time.

The 70cm operation from RI will be with low power.  If conditions are very good we may be able to complete.
